Rationale
English and Chinese are very important international languages for communication with all global citizens, whether it be in general business, service industries, international trade, diplomatic relations, or education; they are very important in all quarters, both in government and private sectors. It is therefore a national agenda to develop manpower that is highly skilled in international languages, especially in English and Chinese in accordance with the National Economic and Social Development Plan in terms of Free Trade Area (FTA) for the expansion of export business, as well as service businesses and tourism.
Huachiew Chalermprakiet University is a private tertiary educational institution founded by the Po Tek Tung Foundation, a public charity organization, one of whose missions is to benefit the society by increasing equal educational opportunities at the university level. Huachiew Chalermprakiet University is therefore committed to developing various fields of study that would meet the needs of society by producing graduates who are capable in both academic knowledge and professional expertise, while standing firm in moral principles as well as professional ethics, with the consciousness of good citizens advancing themselves and the nation. Therefore the Faculty of Liberal Arts deems it necessary to offer a Bachelor of Arts (English-Chinese Major) International Program.
Objectives
1. To produce graduates who are competent in using the English and Chinese language skills of listening, speaking, reading, writing, and translation correctly and appropriately in a given situation.
2. To produce graduates who can apply their knowledge of English and Chinese to their career and daily living in today's society in a responsible and ethical manner.
3. To produce graduates who are fully conscious of serving their society in the capacity of an intermediary of communication working towards the goal of goodwill and understanding among mankind.
